Police arrested a 49-year-old Temecula man on charges of DUI around 9:00 p.m. Saturday after he crashed his pickup truck into a black utility trailer and consequently injured a man in the area of Mission Trail and Lewis Street in Wildomar, Sheriff’s officials reported today.
Rudolph Barclay was traveling north on Mission Trail when he apparently crashed his vehicle into a black trailer as it was being backed away from a residence and into the roadway by the pickup truck it was attached to, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s report.
The driver of the pickup truck and trailer combo was being directed out into the roadway by a man who was struck and thrown on the east roadway edge when Barclay crashed his vehicle into it, Sheriff’s Sgt. Marc Cloutier said.
The man sustained injuries and had to be transported to a local hospital for treatment, according to Cloutier.
Police arrested Barclay for driving under the influence of alcohol and booked him at Southwest Jail. Mission Trail was closed across all lanes and was expected to be reopened at 4:00 a.m. today, Cloutier said.
