Police arrested an 18-year-old Eastvale man shortly before 3:00 a.m. Sunday on charges of first degree burglary and intent to commit a sexual assault after he broke into a home in the 7400 block of Carrollton Avenue, Sheriff’s officials reported today.

Residents of the home awoke to find Isaac Jenkins had broken in and quickly detained him until authorities could arrive, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s report.

Once officers came to the home and took Jenkins into custody, investigators assigned to the city of Eastvale assumed the investigation, Sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Manning said.

It was later determined Jenkins entered the home with the intent of sexually assaulting a resident there, according to Manning.

Jenkins was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.
