The deputies located the skateboarder, a 24-year-old Hispanic male, lying in the street, according to a San Diego County Sheriff’s report.

The subject had been traveling “eastbound on Phillips Street and was either struck by a passing motorist or fell to the street on his own accord,” Sheriff’s deputy Matt Power said in the report.

The man sustained what Power called a “significant” arm injury as well as head trauma.

After police found him, the skateboarder was transferred to a local hospital by fire officials for further evaluation and treatment, according to Power.

This investigation is still ongoing and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Department non-emergency line at 858-565-5200.
