Fallen Kingdom is the darkest and most daring Jurassic movie. It’s also the dumbest.
Officers from the Menifee Police Department shot and killed a suicidal man brandishing a handgun at 4:51 p.m. Thursday in a residence in the 27500 block of Medford Way in Menifee after the man pointed the gun at them, a Sheriff’s official reported today.
Officers, as well as a police helicopter, arrived to the residence shortly before the shooting occurred and attempted to get the man to drop his weapon while also offering him assistance, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s report.
The man refused to drop his weapon and at some point turned the gun on officers. This is when the officer-involved shooting occurred, according to Sheriff’s Sgt. Lisa McConnell.
The suicidal man’s name is being withheld until a positive identification can be made and family members can be notified, McConnell said.
McConnell also said that no officers were injured during the occurrence and that the officers involved in the shooting are being placed on paid administrative leave in accordance with department policy.
This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Investigator Campos at the Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit 951-955-2777 or Investigator Plumier with the Menifee Police Department at 951-210-1000.
