per14-0322-surveillanceRiverside County Officials responded to an attempted murder in Mead Valley Saturday morning, arriving in time to rescue the victim, although the suspect remains at large.

Described as a black adult male, six feet tall and bald, the suspect allegedly approached the victim, a 58-year old male, and stabbed him in the neck and took his vehicle, according to Sgt. Gil Gonzalez.

Deputies from Riverside County Sheriff’s Dept. Perris Station arrived on the scene at around 4:45 a.m., and came to this conclusion after speaking with witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage.

Sheriffs found the vehicle later, damaged from a collision, and abandoned by the subject, who has yet to be found.

The crime occurred near 23200 Cajalco Road. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Dept. urges anyone with further information to contact Investigator Heath at (951) 210-1000, or Dispatch at (951) 776-1099.
