Cal Fire extricates Lake Elsinore man from vehicle following rollover crash
Officers from the Perris Police Department were on scene Wednesday as Cal Fire officials extricated a former convict from his vehicle using the “jaws of life” after he damaged it in a rollover crash in the 700 block of Mountain Avenue in Perris, officials reported.
Few details were available about how Brian Luft of Lake Elsinore was involved in a single-vehicle rollover crash at 9:30 p.m.
However, alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash and Luft was driving on a suspended driver’s license from a prior DUI conviction, according to Sgt. J.P. Strang.
Luft was transported via ground ambulance to an area hospital with moderate injuries, according to Cal Fire Spokeswoman Jennifer Fuhrman.
The Perris Police Department’s Traffic Unit responded and assumed the investigation after police arrived to the scene, Strang said.
The collision is currently still under investigation and anyone with information is encouraged to call Deputy Heuer or Officer Halburian at the Perris Sheriff’s Station at 951-210-1000.
The crash did not happen at 9:30 am.
The crash happened at 3:44 am, not 9:30 pm.
