The Eastvale Police Department is seeking help from the public to identify the suspect of a hit and run that left a bicyclist dead in the early morning hours of Friday, April 25, a Sheriff’s official reported.
The bicyclist was traveling through an intersection when he was struck by a black sedan that was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Limonite Ave in Jurupa Valley, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s report. The driver of the sedan failed to stop at a red light, which is ultimately how the incident occurred.
The driver continued traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Limonite Avenue after colliding with the bicyclist, eventually turning southbound onto Scholar Way.
After arriving to the scene of the accident, officers attempt to locate the vehicle but were unable to, the report said.
The bicyclist succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at Kaiser Hospital of Ontario following the incident.
The Eastvale Police Department is seeking the help of a good Samaritan who was driving a tan Chevrolet Suburban in locating the vehicle and its driver. However, the department is also asking that anyone with information regarding the hit and run call Deputy Cuadra at the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station at (951) 955-2662.
